(a) Specific gravity at 25 °C. 0.850 to 0.870.

(b) Refractive index at 20 °C. 1.4740 to 1.4780.

(c) Optical rotation at 20 °C. +30° to +50°.

(d) Aldehyde content (as citral). 0.5 to 3.0 percent.

(e) Terpene content (as limonene). 45 percent minimum.
